I ave 21 hours on my 200 with a 6 liter and doesn't have the power out of the hole shot. Was pulling a Chris Parrish slalom clinic this weekend and everyone noticed. My old 5.7 liter had more power than it. Someone said this is the third time they heard about this and recommended filling it with 93 octane and it might re-calibrate the computer. I will contact my dealer tomorrow. Anyone have ideas

My 2012 450 hp 6 L PCM motor specifically required 91 or higher octane or it ran poorly. My 2020 6.2 L PCM will run on 87 or higher. But as the manual says, the performance is better with higher octane gasolone. Having said that, I suspect the poor hole shot is more due to the prop they selected for your boat, then it is due to the octane of the gasoline.Last edited by vision; 06-19-2022, 05:52 PM.

I would suspect a fuel problem, as well. You may want to change the fuel filter just in case there was some gunk or water in the fuel and then run some Sea-Foam through it and see if that helps. I use it in my 2012 6.0 liter ZR450 occasionally as maintenance. (It is good stuff - my Dad had a new truck with the 5.3 liter and had it to the dealer several times as it was not running right. They couldn't figure it out at all. My Dad dumped in a can of Sea-Foam and it cleared it right up.)

A 200 with a 6L should have plenty of power on the low end. Please post the prop that's on your boat. My guess is that it is not optimal.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina.
