Toggle Switch on Older Nautiques

I recently purchased a 2005 Super Air Nautique 226 and had it out for the first time over the weekend. It has a toggle switch with three options: all on, all off, and bilge only. When I have the switch on, “all on” and the boat is running, the bilge never ran. I had to turn the boat off and move the switch to bilge only to get the bilge to pump. This can’t be right. I thought the two bilge pumps were automatic and should pump when enough water gets in the boat, even when the switch is in the all on position and the boat is running. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or what the issue might be? Thanks!!

For me, I have to turn on the bilge pump on the keypad, just like the cabin lights and heater and everything else. Once I turn on the bilge pump it cycles periodically to check for water. Once I enter my code I always turn on the bilge pump and the fan.

Yes - when you are in the run/on position, you need to turn on the bilge from the keypad as well. In either scenario, the bilge has a sensor to determine if the pump actually needs to do work. If you listen carefully you will periodically hear the bilge pump activate to check if there is water to remove.

On my 06 the dash pad botton defaults to on as i enter my code. I can manually turn it off and on but it should turn on when you power up. I think 05 is the same. If its not coming on and you cant manually turn it on, then i would check wiring on the back of the bilge/off/all on toggle. I had some bilge pump issues and found some loose and broken off wires on the toggle. They had corroded because of exposed wire just back from the solder. I changed the switch to a post style and heat shrunk new connectors, all works fine now. Hope that helps.

That automatic activation of the bilge pump when you enter the code didn't start until the later years. I know my '03 210 didn't do it, but you could turn it on manually. Not sure what year the automatic activation started.

My '07 has the automatic activiation--I confirmed last night as this thread had me curious.
