    Reversible Ballast pump not emtying, but will fill; 2006 SANTE

    2006 SANTE 220. When I long press the button on the panel to reverse flow the pumps, it begins to blink, but the pump doesnt not run in reverse. It will fill as it should, but will not empty. It doesnt run at at all in empty mode (flashing). I pulled the connector and ran it to another set of wires to a different ballast pump and it worked, so I know the pump works. The light on the dash blinks and all the other functions of the push button panel work.

    Where does the reversing of polarity take place? is there a switch somewhere in the boat or does it take place inside the panel? To sum up my questions, do I replace the panel or start with a cheaper switch? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    I belive this is the condition of a faulty or unplugged sender on the tank. Is this happening with all pumps or just one? If just one I would start with the sender. If its all, there might be something else going on, but i can confirm that when my senders are unplugged my pumps will only fill and button just blinks in reverse, same as you.

      Here are a couple threads that could help you out. Those era boats have a know issue with ballast run dry sensor.

        Thank you all for your responses. For those of you in the future reading this thread, there are 2 fixes;

        (1) If you want to keep the gauges working correctly and keep using the stock sending units, you use a a series of Jumpers as described in Techbeer's thread and writeup here: https://www.planetnautique.com/vb5/f...-in-2006-sv211

        (2) If you will not be using the senders anymore and dont m ind if the gauges read completely full anymore, watch this video and youll be done in less than 5 minutes:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDaH...nnel=jkallen21

        Option Number 2 is much simpler, but Number 1 is the engineered, correct way that wont leave you with any bugs. Much thanks to both guys sharing the information in both of those threads. This saved me many, many dollars and hours of chasing a gremlin I am sure because I would have never thought to look here.
