2014 G25 Sudden Engine Sputter and Stop

This weekend after a perfect day engine started throttling down and turning to head back to marina just on plane engine sputters and RPMs drop and engine stops. Several attempts to re-start. Engine cranks, battery voltages good. Opened fuel fill caps. Checked all connectors. Moved throttle out of gear and pumped then tried to start. On one occasion it almost fired then died. We got towed back about 20 minutes then tried again to start engine and it fired up normally. Disconnect tow and headed back to marina, slowly accelerated with a few RPM retards and then got to 5400 RPM. The engine would back off and on from 5000 ish to 5400 RPM but stayed on and we were able to put back in slip, low speed was fine.
Next day it starts fine, ran it a few hundred yards from marina to be safe and not lose a day floating at least. It ran perfect, so pulled to surfers no issues. Ran around the lake a bit no issues. Then again towards end of day heading back to marina this time just after pulling up a surfer to surf back 15 seconds later engine stops. Same symptoms. Same attempts to start but no luck. This time no tow available so had to toss anchor to stay away from the shallows. Waited about an hour and was able to get it to start after waiting. Ran back to marina and had no engine retard issue but ran at 4500 rpm did not try 5400 rpm.
Next day started fine as we were pulling to take to a service center.
Fuel pump? Electronics? Maybe a G25 issue?

To me sounds like a fueling issue. Pump could be going bad.

When is the last time you changed your fuel/water filter and how old is fuel skye6969? Did you check to see if any codes were registered? Agree in line with William_Zane, but that's a strange one for sure. Please let us know what you find out, and good luck.

Scooter, The boat was fully services in 2021 spring, fuel filter etc. all replaced. Ran all season but only about 30 hours. Up on lift at lake with fuel stabilizer. We were out last month and run tested and had not issues on lake for half day. Topped fuel off and added appropriate stabilizer at that time since we knew it was going to sit another month or so.
No engine codes were thrown at all. Biggest worry is the dealer finds nothing obvious. Then do you think we just replace fuel filter, primary and secondary fuel pumps, and think theres some vent as well?
Thoughts are: If fuel filter it would have misfire, and repeatable, same with bad injector, as we had one a few years ago and boat goes to limp mode and tosses all sorts of codes.

So bizarre, and frustrating, that's a tough one, then you throw a supercharger in the mix and a whole new set of rules. Then to boot the Doctor doesn't have a diagnosis, no bueno.
Maybe someone will chime in that has had a similar problem...

Im having a similar issue right now in a G25 2015 with the 550 supercharge. 225 hours. Boats starts no issues then dies 3 seconds later. Checked fuel pressure on mine and it seems to be good. Did you ever figure your issue out?

Colt45MD, I have it at the dealer now and he said it was odd. They expect it to be checked out today or tomorrow and I will update everyone.

I replaced this part On mine and it fixed my issue. I post a separate thread on it. Maybe it'll help. Some of the symptoms we are having are similar.

Dealer went through entire boat and ran without any issues. That sucks cause it left me stranded 2 days in a row and bound to happen again. How can you take a family out with that. Having them do a water test next. It would be easier if something was completely broken!

Water tested and re-checked everything they could think of. Grounds, connectors, etc. They say the boats perfect. Wife is not about to get stuck a 3rd time. Green lighted the purchase of a new 2023 fully loaded G25 coastal edition. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

We'll be reading sometime next year when someone posts about a '14 G25 that quit running mid session...
