Ignition off - Check engine light randomly comes on

I have a ‘99 SN GT-40 EFI. The other day we came in from skiing, turned off key (we leave the key in the ignition), turned off ignition switch and left. Later that day some folks stopped by and told be my ‘Check Engine Light’ was on. The key was off and the ignition breaker was off (out). I had to turn the key for the light to go off….it did it again the next day and the depth finder was on (we had not used the boat agIn due to weather). Anyideas how/why it seems to be powering up with the breaker off?

That is VERY odd behavior. I was going to suggest a failing key switch, but if the breaker was off too, that's just weird.

I'd still start at the key switch. Does the back side look corroded or anything?
