2015 G25 PCM 550. Starts and then dies after 5 seconds. Any help appreciated.

    I have a 2015 Nautique G25. PCM 550. 228 hours
Issue began about three days ago when the boat would crank from cold start up and then die a few seconds later. I was able to rev in neutral and get to start and run for the whole day without further issues.

On day 2 it did the same thing as day 1. I was able to get it on the water and I seemed to noticed some slight hesitation with getting up to speed and it seems to not hold speed as well through turns. I took it in and took a break and then went out later in the day. While crusing across the lake I lost all power. From that point on I can start the boat and it cranks like normal but dies a few seconds later. I can no longer put in neutral and rev it to get it going.

I have checked the fuel pre filter and replace the FCC inner filter. After the swap I can hear the fuel pump get on before ignition. I have also swapped out both the pump relay and ignition relay. I have also put in fresh gas and checked the batteries with no change. The only code I have ever gotten is when trying to rev the engine at start up I got the "unable to reach higher TPS" error but with a restart I have never gotten this again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

could be your TPS. It may be sending some wacky reading to the ECM, so after the initial star the computer just shuts it down. Perhaps in your first two days you were able to get the TPS to read correctly by moving the throttle, but it seems that it may now be completely dead. I would try changing that out or maybe calibrating it?

Any link to a thread on how to replace/adjust this?

Here's an old post I found... The OP had the same code as you did. "unable to reach higher TPS"

it looks like the TPS is built into the throttle body, but my guess is that you should be able to just replace the sensor if you can find a new one

            https://www.planetnautique.com/vb5/f...kend-need-help

"Thanks for all of the advise. Ended up calling the "New" Nautique dealer in the area around the lake house, Water Sports Central in Seneca, SC, (picked up CC after Marine Max lost them) and explained the problem and your thought and he agreed he thought it was throttle position sensor. Recommended I take off throttle body (TPS build it sort of) and take it to auto parts store and see if they had one (dealer did not). Got it off with no issue and took it to Autozone. Even with part number etched into the part they couldn't find it and since it wasn't off a car they couldn't look it up. Found one that may be right but not sure and didn't have it in stock anyway. Long story but ended up calling Chevy dealer and talked to parts guy. Sent him pictures and found one exactly like it. He was awesome and stayed late until I could get there. Bought whole throttle body for pricey $250 (for 2009 5.3L) and installed it on boat. Tested and motor hesitated but then started working. Tested codes and same one would show up some but not every time."

Here's one on NautiqueParts. It's listed for a 5.7 GM, not sure if it's the same on a 550, I'm assuming it probably is

Closing thread. This part fixed it. Boat is basically a 6.2 corvette engine. Thank you everyone!!
