I don't know if anyone can help. Our club has just bought a brand new Nautique 200, and the wake is horrible. I have hurt myself, two out of the three sets I have skied behind it. We have had 200s for years and still have a 2016 one alongside this. The difference in wake is unbelievable.
I also ski at another lake and they also have a brand new 200, and the wake is amazing.
Here are two comparative photos of the wakes. The red boat is ours. The first picture shows both boats in slalom mode, and the second shows the green boat in trick mode and the red in slalom.
Notice how the red boat wake does not taper away but still has two crests. it is not quite as big as the green one in trick mode, but it is not far off.
We have had to put about 80lbs in the bow, so that the loop is actually in the water when it is stationary, but the nose is still really high when towing.
Various club members have supposedly checked the hydrogate and apparently concluded that it is working fine. Evidence would suggest otherwise.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so, what did you do to fix it?
