Was out on our lake on Tuesday and stopped to swim. When trying to start the boat we got several warnings regarding low oil pressure. Despite having oil we could not get rid of the message. I was able to get to a landing close by. I called our dealer and was fortunate that they sent a mechanic with trailer to where we were in 40 minutes. After a fairly quick diagnosis he said our engine would need to be replaced! He said it was a common problem for the ZR4 engine for model years 2020 and 2021. Has anyone else had this problem? We only had 110 hours on the boat! I'm sure it will be covered under warranty but assume our summer is over - what are our chances of getting a loaner boat from dealer/nautique?

It is not a "common problem with the ZR4 engine." That engine has been in Nautiques for years now, the vast majority of them trouble-free. You had what is most likely an oil pump failure. Certainly not common, but it can happen.

was there any indication of a problem before you shut it down? was there oil pressure?
if there was no problem before you shut it down, i would bet it is a sensor (oil pressure).
sure it could be a bad pump and a catastrophic failure, but i think that is pretty quick to jump straight to an engine replacement

It’s reasonable to ask for sure, But this will depend on several things like your dealer and availability. They definitely should and wouldn’t hurt to ask.2009 Super Air Nautique 210 TE
