2004 Super Air 210 with a 330 Excalibur cutting off going back to idle

Good Evening, I just purchased a 2004 Super Air 210. The boat will cutoff if you go from a high power setting back to idle (for instance when you drop a skier). I can keep the boat running if I start it in neutral with the throttle in a forward position and then ease it back to idle. But, if you are in tight quarters even at low rpm it will cut off moving the throttle. It will idle all day long and run fantastic after you get over the initial say 1000RPM? My gauges are not working so 1000RPM is a guess. Any help would be appreciated.

so far I have- changed the cap, rotor and all 8 plugs
    changed the FCC filter
put a new impeller in it for my own sanity since the gateway box seems to be bad.

My next guess is to throw a low pressure fuel pump at it? Has anyone else had this issue and been successful fixing it?

    Thanks for your help!

Low pressure pumps are known to fail often, but that leads to a no-start situation. Vent lines for tank ok? Anti-siphon valve on top of tank could also be an issue, but unlikely. Did you clean and check the throttle body? There could be a clog or issue with the small area in the throttle body for the idle air bypass. I dont know if there is an active part in there or not.

Well we spent most of yesterday troubleshooting. I cleaned the throttle body first. No changes.

then I took it to my buddies house with a 2005 Super Air Nautique and we started swapping parts from his good running boat. (Yes I’m very lucky that my best friend let me take his perfectly running boat apart and put on my boat). We changed out the TPS sensor, no changes. We changed out the idle air sensor and no change. We put the anti siphon valve in the ultrasonic cleaner and cleaned it up. I did notice that his boat idles a little higher than mine. Is there an idle adjustment somewhere?

Also, if you go from full throttle on mine back to idle and full throttle again it will cause it to backfire two times. I’m not sure why it does this? It kind of makes me think it is getting fuel and then the spark comes back in? I’m taking guesses at this point.

      open to suggestions? Thanks
