new owner 1995 SN thank yous and questions

I appreciate all of the info on this site, and have read through a lot...i was able to replace and fix the non-working gauge bulbs and restore the needles thanks to the ones who posted the great info.

I have a few other questions that i hope someone can assist me with-
1st, my boat has the shower accessory, the motor mounted controls have hot/cold but no switch- i assume this was a manual control for this year- also, i have the shower handle with a quick fit on the end of the hose, but can't find where the port would be for connecting. is there a 'default' location i should be looking for this?
I am not concerned as much with having the shower as much as i am curious if it works

2nd- i was thinking of adding a hose connection to allow me to run the motor outside of the lake, but looks like my motor already has this! but i was hoping someone can confirm thats what this is-
also, seems like there is some debate from what i have read about whether its better to connect the hose to a faucet or run a short hose to a bucket Click image for larger version

On question two - if that’s the raw water strainer at the bottom of your picture, that connector in front of it will only work if you shut the seacock valve (shut off) on the bottom of the hull where it picks up water from the lake. If you leave it open, I worry you will be pulling air into the system. That t junction fitting looks custom.

it is the water strainer at the bottom of the pic. i will look and see if there is a shutoff valve ahead of the filter. Thank you for the info!
