Prop Recommendations for 2021 G23 with Supplemental Ballast

Hello Everyone,

I have a 2021 Super Air Nautique G23 with the ballast upgrade from Swell Wakesurf. This replaces the starboard and port side subfloor stock bags with 1950lb bags. The upgrade has been fantastic and the surf wave is excellent, especially on the days we are running a small crew. However, for wakeboarding it can take a little extra effort to get on plane. I have the ZZ6 and am close to sea level and am considering changing my prop. Has anyone made any changes to get more torque out of the hole? If so what did you go with?

Does nobody run a different prop? This got moved into another forum with less traffic so I’m afraid people won’t see it.

What prop is on it now? My 2022 with Supplemental ballast came with a 3433. Seems fine.

I have a 2021 G23 with the Swell ballast package. I have noticed the same issue you describe when wakeboarding. On the facebook forum there are part number recommendations. Call ACME and them what you have and they will know the recommended prop. I had it written down but have not ordered it yet.

Well I can say the verdict is in. I spoke with Jim at Acme last week. He recommended going with the Acme # 3917, which is 18.125 x 13.50. It's the same prop they run with the ZZ8 in the Paragon. What a difference this has made! Full ballast (stock plus Swell Wakesurf upgrade) and the boat gets on plane in a blink of an eye. You lost about 1-1.5 mph on your top end, which I couldn't care less about. These boats aren't built for speed. I'll also so the boat in general handles better, runs smoother and put's out a better wake and wave with the prop change. I highly recommend this! Jim at Acme was also awesome and I had the prop very quickly after ordering.
