Spark plug gap madness? Who’s right?

This is for my 2006PCM 330. Also known as a Vortech 5.7 lol.

I got iridium plugs for them. And the gap was set at 035 as new. Looking back through pcm documentation they say the gap should be 060.

Looking online people say do not change the gap on a iridium spark plugs as the new plugs work better than previous plugs would’ve spec’d for.

    Who’s right?!?!

Gap one bank at 0.060 and leave the other at 0.035 and see if you can tell the difference.

I just replaced my plugs on the same motor this season. I went from platinum to iridium and left the gap as they were out of the box. Sorry I dont recall, but they were AC Delco plugs that number matched the upgrade from platinum to iridium.

I have always checked from the box to be sure they were all the same gap and it's usually about .035 if I remember right. Like Ski Dave said, it's a deco plug and they can be had much cheaper than buying through PCM. I remember i bought a set through PCM one time and they literally took the A/C Delco brand plug and put it in a PCM box and did nothing else, and they were triple the price. I know they want to make money, but at least brand them... I couldn't believe it
