    small update:
My 2015 AR240 is sold/Pending. (I have the bank wire transfer, just need the Cashiers check downpayment when i hand the boat over tomorrow).
Thanks to this, ordered a few goodies.
New Dimensions tower with ski racks, speaker prewire, anchor light, anodized grey.
New cover for the boat (for the tower)

It will be december before the tower arrives though.

Ramlin finally got back to me on the crash pad for the trailer. They can make their standard one with a custom bracket at the bottom. However, they are so behind on factory orders that custom parts are on hold until at least jan 1. They wont even price it for me until then. I've left it alone for now, but when I reach back out i'll be asking about modifying it further to be more like the modern boatmate one that allows it to fold down for the cover when needed.
I'm contemplating moving to a Ramp N Clamp setting or the Crash pad. Price will dictate what I do most likely. Though as my wife points out, we are used to a crash pad vs something unknown.

The wife and I are still humming and hawing over stickers for the boat. Teal is a "complementary" color with Burgundy. SO we are contemplating being wild and doing a grey with teal surround or Teal with grey surround "SPORT NAUTIQUE" motive, similar to the more modern and older boats.

Boat name still escapes us. We are both Professional Engineers and the last boat was named by a neighbor. "TWO P.E.'S IN A POD".
my current favorite refers to the fact that i thought wineberry was more purple in color and the fact we are huge Clemson Tiger's fans.
    "DARNIT ITS GARNET"

I'll share some pictures as we worked on the boat. Boys helped me on a very cold day to get the old stickers off.

I'll spare you the hours and hours and hours of work i've spent on the boat to remove the shadow of the old letters.

i tried buffer 6" sanding pads and found they struggled to even make a dent. I'm not sure if they died too quick or what, but i found hand sanding was actually faster for me, it was easier to see if the pass of 1500 removed the 800 etc. (by changing angle 90* each time.)
the recipe i found to work was 1 pass, 800 grit. 2 passes 1500 grit, wash inspect, spot sand any remaining 800, wash inspect, 2000 grit 3 times, spot treat any major areas, then M91 cutting compound (I used a ton of wool pads but gave up and moved to modern pads that just hold up better) cleaning the pads every section. Then M67 (marine cutting/polish compound).
I'm holding off of wax until after i apply any decals I'm replacing.

Good project, great share bionaraq. Great to see the crew helping out, good teamwork. Anxious to see the unfolding progress as you go, looking good.
I am a huge fan of the ramp n clamp, not sure I would run one with my G23, a lot of weight going on there. Loved to watch my wife do her magic on loading with our last boat. The trailer would barely be settled backing in, and she would be on, and locked and loaded and off the ramp in 60 seconds or less, I never got out of the truck in the process. The only thing I wished we had were the crash pads, never got around to it on my list of things. Not so much as a stop bumper, but for more of a visual guidance to know exactly how much further to go until the boat had arrived on the trailer. The "click" of the RnC would let you know your in, but it was always a slight guess to 5 more inches or 1 more inch to go.

      Keep up the good work..!

Scooter G with my FIL he just rides up to the crash pads, then when out of the water, we throw the turnbuckle on. not sure the ramp N clamp would fit with the crash pads. (you do not have a winch with the crash pads usually)

Bow stops (aka crash pads) and winches are totally dependent on the mfg of the trailer and their specific design. For example my last two DHM trailers (tend to see DHM trailers on the west coast; they are no longer in business) had bow stops and a winch.

I appreciate the winch option as it can be useful on shallow ramps or if for some reason you cannot run the engine and it's too shallow to float the boat onto the trailer.....
