    Analog Temp gauge reading high

Anyone have any experiences with a Analog Faria Temperature gauge reading hot ~190degrees when the engine is running normal (158 degrees)? This is on a 2006 196.[/b]

How do you know that the temp guage is reading hot?
    Which engine?
    Is it always reading hot?

There is a specification for the resistance of the temp sender. I do not know what is is, off the top of my head. Temporarily remove the wire from the sender on the engine, and check the resistance to ground. It will change as your engine warms up. You should not turn your engine on with the sender disconnected, it will set a trouble code in your engine computer. With the key off, disconnect the sender, and check the resistance. reconnect the sender, run the motor, turn the motor off, disconnect the sender, and check the resistance again. Compare that information to the specs you found for your motor.

No, I'll have to take it in to West Coast Correct Craft for that to get it covered under warranty. He suspected it was either the gauge or something in the electronics.

I would go to WCCC, If I was not confidant in what I was doing. They are good, knowlegble people.
