Transom tie down point on 2003 Nautique 196?

There are attachment points on the Ram-Lin trailer for transom tie downs but no specific transom tie down points mounted onto the transom of my boat. Where, if ever installed, did Correct Craft put them or is one simply supposed to hook the upper end of the transom tie down straps/hooks to the swim grid supports?

Right, you just attach them to the swim platform supports. Had a 2008 206 for years that I ran this way. Came from the factory set up like that, and I never had an issue.

Agreed. Swim platform brackets are what I use too.

x3 on that. It threw me for a loop when I bought the boat and the BIL went to strap it down for the haul home!

I had a buddy comment the other day, are you sure that's the right place to hook the straps? Pretty freakin' solid my man, those swim deck brackets aren't going anywhere. After he took a closer look he said, "oh ya, you're right".

Thanks...I figured the platform brackets would work just fine....no point in drilling unnecessary holes....lol

I have an 2001 Air, would the swim platform brackets be the same advise others would give for my boat?

Yes. That's even what we use on the G-series boats.

Someone mentioned this to me years ago, and I had never thought about it, but I realized that it is true. The tie down points and straps only need to be strong enough to lift the weight of the trailer, not the boat. the point of the tie downs is to keep the trailer attached to the boat, not the other way around.
