2004 216 speedo: no buttons > buttons

Out of curiosity, was the gateway for this model unique to the "buttons" boats vs none?

I.e. some models have buttons that allow you to see error codes, hours, depth, etc.

My model is a bare bones and only shows hours in the gauge LCD.
Can i fix this by simply replacing with the 90025 spedo on Nautique parts when it comes back in stock?

Sounds like you might have a Signature Edition boat, which did not have the digital gauges. If that is the case, you don't have a gateway either, so you can't just replace the gauges. Is your boat key-start or code-start?

Also, I wouldn't count on the 90025 ever being available again. That was a gauge Faria made just for gateway boats. They aren't even making anymore gateways, so I really doubt the gauges will ever be available again.

Jeff, thanks for the confirmation. Interesting point on the gateway. I'd not found anything about there being boats w/o the gateway reading around the site. Key start, fairly bare bones option wise.

Yep, if you have key start, you have a Signature Edition. No gateway in that boat. My 2003 Ski Nautique 196 that I am restoring right now is a SE as well. Very simple system in those boats.

Not going to lie, that makes me happier. It means more work getting a depth gauge for me and a few other things, (how do i read error codes now?)

Error codes can only be read with a Diacom setup. That's true whether you have a boat with a gateway or not.
