    Help replacing ballast gauge

I am curious how difficult it is to pull off the vinyl trim and get the ballast fill gauges off? I have one i think has gone bad (float sensor in tank looks fine) and need to get to it.

The interior panels are held in with double christmas tree clips, so when I had to remove on of the panels to get at the bolts to my rear tower mount to do a repair, I just used a plastic trim removal pry bar and the panel just pops off. I would check to see if replacement gauges are available before digging into it too deep though. I think for the ballast gauges you may be in luck finding a replacement, but for the gauges in the dash that go through the gateway box there are very few spare parts available for the old Faria gateway box system.

Can u actually test the tank sending unit w multimeter? There are YouTube how to videos. Sending unit may be for a fuel tank but the same method.

To be honest not sure what a good sending unit looks like lol.

Yeah, they’re easily testable with a multimeter. Set it to resistance. The float should read 240ohms with the float all the way in one direction and 30ohms on the other. I forget which way is which.
