    Excalibur spark plugs

    Hi everybody.
    Another question from Portugal:
What do you think about conventional spark plugs and platinum ones?
In the boat manual they recommends AcDelco conventional spark plugs, costing 2$ each. The platinum is ten times more expensive.
Do we get any advantage in using it?

    RE: Excalibur spark plugs

Platinum plugs can last a lot longer than conventional plugs- which is great for longer service intervals. However, performance will be just as good, if not better, with the standard plugs- they just need to be replaced sooner.

On the excalibur engine the platinum plugs are already installed by the factory. Pcm said you should not have to replace plugs on this engine unless there is a problem like leaking injector or oil fouling or a ignition problem.

I have had 600 hrs on the engine with the original plugs and the Excalibur still doesnt miss a beat, apart from some fuel pump and relay issues.
