Ballast pump power

Hey Guys, new to the forum, not new to my boat. I have a 2001 SAN that I have owned for about 10 years, and is in what I would consider pristine original condition. This summer, I could not get the OEM ballast pumps to work. Could not even get the dash buttons for the fill/empty to light. Is there a separate fuse for this, or short of that, where does the power come from so I can start tracking it down. I have spent a couple hours at this point here on the forum looking for an answer, but mostly what I find is " rip out the old, put in new". I am not ready to do that, so any tips on this system-like what to look for when troubleshooting? I don't believe the pumps are bad because they both failed at the same time. No lights on the dash buttons tells me there is a power or connection problem somewhere. But where should I start looking?

Check out this wiring diagram. The ones labeled LCS Pump are what you're looking for.

Could possibly be a bad button pad as well.

Thanks for that Jeff, I had seen that already but don't find it terribly useful in tracking down the ballast pump wiring in the boat or even determining if those pumps are fused somewhere along the way. I am sure they must be but don't know where. I guess I am not so good at reading that particular diagram.

You could always take a small piece of wire strip off a little bit of the sheathing and use that as a jumper on one of the ballast sending units.

Probably not the issue if all pumps are inop , but you could connect the two pins on one of the sending unit wires to see if that kicks off the pump to run.

And since it's the off-season, you can certainly start from the basics. What's the voltage if you put a multimeter on your battery? Do other accessories on the dash work like the blower?

I know i have good voltage, the only things on the boat that don't function are the ballast pumps. Judging by your comment, there is a sending unit or relay somewhere in the system. Any clues where these might be? Are they the two relays I see in the engine compartment behind the seat? I can test that, and yes, I can jump directly to the pumps to check pump operation, I am just trying to narrow down the scope of my search before I get elbow deep in this thing. Hoping someone has dealt with this before and can point me at a shortcut rather than starting at the very beginning. I'd like to start at the dash, but even that requires pulling the gauge cluster just to access the pump buttons on the pad. It "feels" like a connection issue somewhere....
My son is really pushing for pulling the stock ballast tanks and going soft bags, but he does not pay the bills. Even then, I've got to trace the wiring to get power, or create a stand alone harness.
