Above I have attached an image of different brands of boats and their rudders. I wanted to know, just out of interest sake, what the difference is between the rudder shapes. On the left, you have the likes of Centurion and MasterCraft making use of square shaped rudders. MasterCraft uses them on their wake/surf boats, but not on the ProStar. I've noticed that Nautique uses rounded, swept back rudders on all their boats, wake/surf as well as ski. Does anyone know the advantages of either, why some companies use both and others only one? It's an interesting topic I'd like to learn a little more about.
