Scar - gelcoat repair and use question

    Hey all,

Had a heartbreaking last day last season. When launching the wheels slipped off the launch and I ended up with a long scar that is due to be repaired next week. A couple spots are down to glass. The repair shop says I'm good to use it this weekend but I'm worried that I might cause more harm than good (but the boys are excited to finally surf after a long winter). What's the consensus on this? Thanks in advance

I wouldn't worry about it. I don't see how it would cause any more harm.

Gel coat repair is one of the simpler thing in boating.
Unless it is metalflake you probably won't notice the repair ever again.

Go for it. Duct tape, make sure you match the color of the boat, lol.
Take some before repair and after pictures, do share.
