2003 air nautique limited transducer

I am replacing the thru hull transducer. The current one hooked to the faria gateway has 2 wires. A blue shield and it looks like a ground because it's unshielded. The new transducer has 3. A blue shield, a black shield and an unshielded ground.

I. New to boat electrical systems. Do I just splice the negative and ground together?

Or did I get the wrong part?

I'm in the middle of adding a head unit to mine. Take a look at the post I put up on I think Monday? I have the diagrams for the transducer and pictures of the gateway box in the post. I also bought a pair of Deutsch connects so I could just plug everything in without destroying the original wiring.

As to your question..... the short answer is yes. The black and bare wires attach together and would go to the bare wire on your old connector. At least that's what the documents I have are showing and will be how I wire mine (which BTW I have not done or tested yet). Let us know how you make out with this.
