    Speed transducer issue

Can someone tell me why or if this speed transducer should have a divot behind the paddle wheel. I’m assuming it’s broken and I need a new one but any information would help thanks. Click image for larger version

At a minimum you need a new "paddle", the sell them separately as they break quite often. Or you could upgrade to a Nautic Logic GPS conversion and skip the paddlewheel. Probably be close to the same price if you have to replace the whole thing.

I have the paddle I have just taken it off. The divot faces out and prevents the wheel from spinning freely

Sounds like the impeller took a strike or the boat sat on the trailer or lift on top of it causing the damage. In that case you either have to replace the entire device or upgrade. Unfortunately the upgrade would appear to be out of stock. You could call them and see when they may have them again. Another option, since the device is junk now, you could try to soften up the plastic that is high carefully with a heat gun then tap it gently with a drift to try and lower the bump. Worse case is that it cracks or doesn't work, which is what you have now. Nautique parts may also have the one you need but you'll need the part number off the old one.....
