2013 230 Screen stuck on "booting"

Like the title says, screen stuck on "booting". I did have a dead battery before hand and no screen at all(as it does with low voltage) but switched to good battery and it would start booting but never boot up!

    Any help appreciated. Thanks!

You could try and unhook both batteries for 30 min then hook them back up and see if it boots up. Worth a try

Power the boat down by turning off the main power disconnect. Then power everything back up. When you turn the boat on, hold the top right button on the screen. Keep holding it while is say "booting". The "booting" message should disappear for half a second and come back. Then a few second later you should get the boot loader and it'll show a picture that you should insert a USB stick with the screen's firmware.

If you get to the boot loader, then it means you can reload the firmware. The trick is getting a dealer or someone to send you the right firmware. If you can't get to the boot loader screen, then there is something wrong at the hardware level.

If you do get to the bootloader, then reboot everything again just to make sure it still doesn't work. But I doubt bringing up the boot loader would fix anything.

That sounds like a good path forward. Will start the search for firmware

Is your screen a 12 button 7" screen? Is it a touch screen or buttons only. I have some versions of firmware, trying to determine if I have something that may work for you.

It's a 14 button screen. Not sure about the size. The dealership acted like they could help, supposed to be calling me back. If you had something that would be great, thanks!

The dealership can download the latest firmware for your particular screen from the Nautique service portal. Some dealerships will actually send it too you. Other's will make you come in and re-flash it for you, typically with a charge. But it's not typically a big fee.

Did you try this to see if you get to the boot loader screen? If you do, I probably have a version of firmware you can try to see it it'll load. But first step is to see if the boot loader even comes up.

Jpwhit, I have not yet. Was planning on waiting until I got my hands on the firmware. Will doing that affect my ability to start and use the boat? It's currently runs and I use a phone to track speed. Going to come up with a ballast workaround for next time out incase I don't get screen fixed. I bypassed the Linc system for the stereo system several years back already.

No, holding that button will just cause it to boot up into the firmware update screen on that boot cycle. If you turn the boat off and reboot the screen without holding the button, it'll boot normally. Or your case probably just go back to being stuck. But since it's so easy to try, I would certainly try that before bothering with preparing the firmware. Because if you can't get to the bootloader, then the firmware is pointless. And it's likely the screen has a hardware issue and will have to be replaced to correct the issue.

Ok, tried it last night and no luck. When holding the button before switching on power and pressing start, the buttons light up but booting does not appear. When holding the button after pressing start it gets to booting and remains there.

Question, any chance on my screen it could be a different button?

Sounds like an issue with the computer circuit board inside the screen then.

Is this a touchscreen, or is it the earlier version where everything is done with the buttons along the left and right sides of the screen? Can you get a picture of the part number sticker on the back of the screen? If it's the non-touch version, I "may" have one that'll work.

You can see if the dealer can do anything to get it working, but I suspect they are going to say you need to buy a new screen. Unfortunately they go for about $4k.

It has the buttons and I do have the part number on the sticker...see attached. If I have to replace the screen that will be unfortunate but I guess it is what it is. Thanks again for your help!

In the meantime I am looking into a workaround and redundancy for future issues. Has any one added a separate zero off head unit to along with the linc system. I pretty sure I found the head unit plug in addition to the one that is plugged in the linc unit. It it's simple plug and play that would be great!
