2014 SAN230 motor

I have had ongojng issues with my pulleys and belts for years now and still not resolved. Pulleys, belts, idler, etc. still continues with boat inxwater this may. Now i an told water pump and pulley.

But worse is i am told engine knock. Taking it to the motorcexperts up here Monday. I want to hear it run with no belt first.

Motor is EX343 with 270 hrs. Shop has stock of ZR409s.

If it does need rebuild is that the way to go or is a ZR swap possible? I am thinking likely lots more involved.

Plese describe in detail the ongoing "issues". 270 hours is barely broken in; would be a shame if motor has already failed. Have you had some significant overheat episodes associated with the pulley/belt problems??

No overheating. Started 2017. Bad belt squeak. Told to replace idler. Did. Continued. Then different pulleys changed. And belts. Continued. PCM said change alternator mounts. Continued. Then said out of warranty so on my own with Marina. Was told solved in fall before storage. Then in spring squeak was back. Also told engine was knocking. I asked if it knocked with no belt. Was told it went away so I was hopeful it was still pulleys. Then was told motor was definitely knocking and also water pump and pulley could be pulley issue. At that point I was not as concerned with pulleys.

should know real issues Monday or Tuesday.

after long day of moving boat to motor experts they ran it and said its just noisy lifters after winter storage should settle out with it incwster running for a bit.
