Hi All,
I have an '08 SV211 that has had some steering stiffness when going left at 3/4+ throttle for a year or so. This year the wheel is pretty stiff going either way (while not moving). Have read about a fabled grease port in the stern and may have located it at the very stern on the floor in a compartment seemingly designed to rack up mechanic labor hours. So the questions are:
A. Any advice on where the grease port is/if it's really that hard to access?
B. Likelihood it needs some grease or if the cable is just going bad (no clue of the boats history, purchased in 2020).
C. Ive read about dropping the rudder and repacking/cleaning old grease, but cant find anything definitive on how to go about that.
Planning to get under it tomorrow to ensure the shaft isn't bent and thus the cause of the stiff steering.
Thanks for anything!
