how did you mount the puck? i know the general area of were it goes. what did you use to drill the hole in the gel coat?

    thanks
I didn't have to drill a hole. The previous owner had put a cheap vent cover over the old hole location. I just had to remove the cover. The puck comes with a double sided tape and it just sticks in place. I'm going to defer to those more knowledgeable than me on best practices for drilling fiberglass, but I will say the puck itself will cover a good amount of any imperfections.

well, I got the puck and just picked up the boat today. I just plugged it into the GPS dongle under the dash.
it is working somewhat, but not completely. Linc is now picking up satellites and I have the time (clock) on the linc display. The clock is only available with the GPS unit. I never had the clock or the satellite tracker before.
However, I don't know if the actual speed control is working. The screen is not indicating "Zero Off" in the lower left corner. It is just showing the set speed. I unplugged the paddle wheel and that did not change anything.

      thoughts/ideas?

Going from memory here, but think the zero off only appears when speed control is turned on. I don’t think it shows up on mine if I’m just running around lake manually controlling the throttle. Sounds to me like GPS is working. Definitely don’t get the clock without it.

I did not have to unplug the paddle wheel.

so i installed the GPS puck. i have clock and gps satellite tracking, so it is working. unsure if i will have speed control though (whole reason for doing this). the screen still does not say "zero off" in the lower left corner. I have yet to go to the lake to test. still prepping the boat, and the lake is a pain to get to with the boat/trailer. It is kind of a do it twice a year chore, once at the beginning of the season, and then at the end. I would like to have all the ducks in a row before we head there.

can anyone else report whether or not the "zero off" icon appears at the lower left of the screen when the boat is not moving, but the speed control is on?

            thanks

got the boat on the water today. I can confirm the GPS puck is working and I have speed control using it. I unplugged the paddle wheel speed control to make sure Linc was not reading off it. However, I do not have the "zero off" icon in the lower left corner like the pic posted previously

Man, I’m glad it’s working, but can’t explain why you don’t have zero off displayed. I was out today and tried to pay attention to when mine displayed zero off. It was not displayed all the time, but every time I had speed control set, pulling a rider, zero off was displayed. Still have paddle wheel plugged in and river mode still works also.

With both, GPS and Paddle Wheel, connected, can you switch between GPS and Paddle Wheel? If yes, how? I am planning to add a paddle wheel to my 2015 210 as the GPS is not good enough on the river
Can someone share pics where the paddle wheel needs to be connected to?
                  Thanks!

I am not aware of any way to manually switch between GPS and paddle wheel on LINC 2.0. I think that if GPS is lost, it uses the paddle wheel as a fallback and when using river mode, the paddle wheel is utilized. I am not positive that this is 100% accurate.

Hi there, I am planning to add a paddle wheel to my 2015 210 as the GPS (with river mode) sucks with changing current.
Does any know if LINC will switch to paddle wheel automatically when turning on river mode?
How can I swith then between GPS and paddle wheel?
                      Thanks for your support!

On a 2015, I don't believe there is any paddlewheel involved. I think that came along in later years.

Thanks Jeff for your reply. I have friends with a 2014 or 2015 210 and the paddle wheel without GPS so there is a 210 of this era with paddle wheel.
The question is, if I add a paddle wheel to my boat which has the GPS only now, can i use the paddle wheel somehow?
Do I need to disconnect the GPS puck connect the paddle wheel and it works?

The answer that DCM gave is probably the best info you're going to get. I've never found a reliable source to get 100% reliable info on details like this of very specific behaviors of the LINC screen. That even includes when I've consulted contacts, I have within Nautique. I think part of the challenge for getting details like this, is I'm fairly sure the LINC software was written by Ennovation Controls, and not someone that works for Nautique. The answer also likely depends on the family and version of firmware loaded on your LINC screen.

The way I've gotten definitive answers to detailed question like this relative to any of the HV700 family boat control systems used in MasterCraft, Nautique, Tige, etc, is to use my workbench testing setup to simulate the scenario. I could potentially do that in this case, except I don't have a paddlewheel in my setup and doubt there is enough demand to make it work me adding one. Now is someone had an old working one they'd donate, I'd consider integrating it.

I do know my 2015 230 has a paddle wheel. I also know that most 2015 boats had the GPS option, but it was an option. I used my boat for a long time without GPS and always had reliable speed from the paddle wheel. I can't tell you exactly how the LINC utilizes the input from the paddle wheel, but I can tell you I've noticed a difference since getting the GPS hooked up. One item that definitely works different is the speed sensitive volume control on the Polk. When I just had the paddle wheel, it was erratic and basically unusable. With GPS, it works great for when I go back to pick up a rider. It cuts the volume, so I can talk to the rider without messing with the audio. I'm on a lake and never use the river mode, but if LINC doesn't use paddle wheel for river mode, I fail to see what it would use the paddle wheel for other than GPS backup.
