So I see how NautiqueJeff almost always replaces the steering cables in his project boats. And I'm big into preventative maintenance.... and there's no record of the cable being replaced on my 2004 206 so I think...yeah....this is a good idea. And it doesn't look too hard to do. My current steering maybe is a little stiff but it's not any sort of problem.
So I order a cable from Natique Parts and stuff it in (a separate story if you've been following along...).
OMG! It's soooooo amazing! The boat turns soooooo easy. Easy like a hot knife through butter - a completely different boat to drive! Why didn't I do this with my last boat? And why did I wait so long on this boat? I don't know.
Got an older boat and can't steer it with just one finger in the wheel? You need to do this.
