Truster auxillary exhaust - always open

Newbie to this forum, and new to Nautiques...

I just bought a 2020 G25. It has the integrated thruster, so it has the secondary small exhaust port just below the swim platform on the port side. It's my understanding that this is used to keep the bubbles produced by the primary exhaust (surf pipe) out of the thruster. That makes some sense. However, shouldn't this exhaust somehow shut-off when you're underway or surfing? Mine pumps out exhaust all the time. I can see the exhaust smoke rising up from the back of the swim platform with I'm surfing. It's really unpleasant and seems to defeat the whole purpose of the surf pipe. I looked through the owner's manual to see if there's a switch to cut off this exhaust port - I can't find anything. I went poking around the engine to see if there is some kind of valve in the line for that secondary exhaust, and I don't see one. I can't believe this is designed to be open all the time. What am I missing?

Did you ever find a fix for this? I'm dealing with the same issue.
