2005 sv211 not starting

We sold our boat on Thursday. Before we sold it to the new owner we took the buyer to the lake to run it on Wednesday and had no issues. The new owner now has the boat at home and it will not start. When he presses a number on the pad an orange light comes on.
the batteries are charged. The throttle is in neutral, the switch under dash is set to All on and still nothing. I gave him the same sequent that we used for the last 3 years. Never had this issue. Boat has started every time for us! What am I missing?

Is it possible he could have locked himself out by putting in the code too many times?

Make sure the safety lanyard is still in place. I don’t think the keypads lock you out after x tries, the keypads have a master code a dealer could look up via the vin, keypads do occasionally need to be replaced…. Get the owner to take a video of what he is doing.
