Need advice on changing sparkplugs on 2007 SN206 w/ 330 HP. Attempting to extract old plugs, do they have a lot of threads. I'm turning counter clockwise with socket wrench but if seems if it takes too many turns to get our and they have a good amount of resistance. Maybe Im paranoid but seems like they arent coming out as easy as I would have guessed.

Maybe loosen them just a bit and hit them with some penetrating oil?Comment

Penetrating oil and let it soak overnight. Hit it again and soak more if necessary. To prevent a bigger problem, it's worth taking your time with the soak.
I just recommended my go-to penetrating oil on another thread, Mouse Milk, especially on salt-soaked stainless fasteners into aluminum.Comment

It sounds like yours aren't stuck. If you're curious about the amount of turns and if you're stripping something, take a new plug and thread it into a bolt if you can find one that fits and see how many revolutions it takes to remove. The metals in the plug are different than the metals in the block so this kind of resistance is not uncommon. I add a little anti-seize to my new plugs before inserting them for this reason.Comment
