I have a 2016 G23 and the depth gauge stopped working. Being lazy I thought it was the transducer and replaced it. That didn't solve the problem. A couple weekends back I noticed it was working for a few hours. Now I am back to no reading (0.0). So, I believe it is a wiring or connector issue, but I am not sure where the next connection is beyond the transducer. Anyone know where the depth reading connects to the dash? or how to trace this wire? I want to check all connections, but I don't want to start pulling things apart to trace the wire if there isn't a buried connection. Any help would be appreciated.

I was out again this weekend, and no luck. Does anyone know where the depth gauge connects to the dash? Maybe a wiring diagram I could trace? I am hoping this is an easy fix, I am just not sure where to start now that I know the sensor isn't the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

No specific help for you but any issues I've had with my 2016 have been issues at the fuse/relay block. Including the fuel pump this season. Dealer fixed the wire connection and replaced the relay.
A few years back my depth finder had a fault that actually killed the boat as I was told the ignition is wired through it for some stupid reason on that particular M/Y.

Can you post a picture of the transducer your replaced. I would think your year boat would have the Airmar bi-ducer that reads depth and water temp. If so, that sensor is connected to the boat's CANBUS and talks to the boat's electronics digitally. But I can tell for sure by seeing a picture. Is the depth shown on a LINC display, or does your boat have a more traditional separate depth gauge?

If it's an Airmar bi-ducer, then I don't need to see a picture. It communicates to the LINC display via NMEA/2k digital protocol (which is over CANBUS). Are you getting a water temp reading? If so, then the wiring to the bi-ducer must be good. If you're not getting depth or temp, then it could be a wiring issue. But it's a bus, which typically includes going to the stereo, the GPS puck, and any other NMEA/2k device in the boat. Typically if the bus has a wiring issue, other things besides this sensor often do not work. This bi-ducers are known to be failure prone, so pretty good chance the new one was also just bad or had failed? If it was purchased recently, you may be able to get it replaced under warranty.
