2016 G25 LINC glitching

Hey, I have a 2016 g25 and the LINC display had been flickering and glitching on me. I read that a software update might solve this problem so we did that and the problem was not solved. Any ideas on how to fix this. I have attached a video of what is going on.

Unfortunately you're probably looking at a new LINC system there. That's what they do when they are dying.

Is this normal for a boat that has around 240 hrs on it?

Hours don't really matter. Your boat is eight years old. The things that kill the screens are heat and water. The way the boat is stored will have an affect on how long the screens last. Not saying you don't properly store your boat, just giving you some reasons for failure.

I've been repairing these screens for the last couple of years. I may be able to fix yours, but parts are difficult to source. I'm traveling at the moment so I can't check if I have the parts to fix this model until I get back home. If you're interested, PM me and I can check on parts early next week. The screens are about 5k new and many of the models have been on long back orders recently. If I can get the parts, it's a lot cheaper to repair them. There's also a chance this problem may be fixable without replacing any parts. In which case it'll be a lot cheaper. Besides being hard to get the parts, the parts are very expensive.

In terms of what causes them to fail, NautiqueJeff is right that these screens live in a pretty harsh environment. They are typically extremely well sealed from moisture so it's pretty rare to see any with moisture contamination inside, but it can happen. By far the most common issue is touch screen issues, and that's because these screens have touch screens that can work with gloves and even drops of water on the screen surface. But that also makes the touch screen extremely sensitive to even the slightest anomalies in the touch screen capacitive sensor plate or sensing electronics. The LCD distortion issue you're seeing with your screen are most often caused by circuit connection issues. Some of those are in places that can be reached, and some are in places that you can't reach without taking apart portions of the LCD panel that are destructive to disassemble. For the later, replacing the entire bonded LCD touch sensor assembly is the only fix.
