Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help me out with what I believe to be a relatively niche question.
I'm trying to figure out the correct type of wire I should use to make a pigtail connector for some of the connectors/plugs coming out of my engine harness. The connectors I'm looking at plug into the ignition coil module and distributor. I've found the correct connectors, terminals, seals, etc.. but having trouble with the wire. Based on the original wire running to the connectors and a MEFI 4 engine harness wiring schematic, I've gathered the following specs:
Could anyone shed some light on if the above specs are correct? If so, any ideas where to purchase this by the foot? Or.. does anyone know of the ideal wire to use/which specs are most important? (Insulation type, strand #, voltage rating, temp rating, etc). Right now, I have 18-gauge Ancor primary marine wire, but not sure if this is suitable for engine use.
I have a 2009 SANTE 210 w Ex 343 Engine
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,

- Wire gauge: 18 awg
- Wire insulation: TXL polyethelene cross linked high temperature (based on the wiring schematic)
- Tinned copper; (based off visual inspection of the original wire)
- 41 strands (again, based off visual inspection of the original wire)
