We have the piggyback ballast tanks. We bought the boat used ~2 years ago and everything has been working great. Several days ago noticed when we try and fill the ballast tanks the starboard side very quickly says it's at 100% and the pumps shut off. It's clearly not at 100%. Manually drained to be certain it really is empty. Then try to fill manually several times and pumps only come on for a couple of seconds and then shut off (likely because it thinks it's at 100%). Tried to reset the timers going into the dealer settings but that didn't make any difference.
From reading this forum, it seems like it's a ballast sensor gone bad and needs to be replaced. Any other opinions what could be going wrong?
As it's not easy for us to get it repaired, is there anything I can do short-term to force the starboard side tanks to fill even though the sensor is claiming it's at 100%?
And if anyone has any recent experience replacing a 2019 GS24 ballast sensor I'd appreciate any tips as I may try and do it myself on the water...yikes!
Thanks!
