    Bilge Troubleshooting

This morning I found my boat listing port side. When I check to see if the bilge pump was working the indicator light was on but the pump was not working. From what I've been able to find on the internet the most likely culprit is a bad switch, pump, or some sort of electrical wiring issue. Curious if anyone on here has had a similar issue and could tell me the best place to start with the troubleshooting.

It's probably just a pump. They sometimes get jammed with gunk in the bilge, and they don't last forever. Pull it out and check it for a clog. Does your boat have 2 pumps? If so, swap them to check if one is bad--or just hook the pump to a 12v source to see if it's working.

MN Ryan nailed it. Start at the load (pumps) and work backwards to the switch.
