    2019 G23 surf wake won’t form

We are trying to get my buddies 2019 G23 to set up a surf wake and the wake won’t clean up. When you switch wake sides you can feel the plates yaw the boat a little bit but not enough to clean up the surf side wake. Ballast 100% all three (no extra ballast 4 people in boat) NSS is set to 0. NSS on. NCRS 5. Speed 11.2. It worked great last summer with the same set up; this year it’s unusable, complete whitewater on both sides. It almost seems like the plates aren’t extending far enough. Anyone else seen this issue? Don’t say we need to add weight to the boat; we were very happy with the wake last summer with stock ballast. Thanks!

SG Could be 2 things. Could be both of your actuators are beginning to fail at extend the plates or although you are showing all your ballasts as 100% full when in reality, they are not full because you have failing ballast pressure sensors thus giving you a false reading. It is easy to see if you have faulty ballast pressure sensors because if you go into the system prompt on the Linc screen, the ballast pressure sensors will be throwing a high voltage reading hence flagging them as failing. I have replaced all my ballast pressure sensors twice on my 2017 G23 showing the same wave problem you are encountering now.

Questions…. When you’re filling your ballast are you seeing water come out of the overflow vents when full ? When was the last time you checked impellers?

Given the wake is not setting up on both sides it's likely the voltage regulator module that controls the ballast shut-off open/close valves has failed. You can test this by opening the hatch and observing if the ballast shut-off valves open and close as you fill/drain the ballast tanks. If they don't you can disconnect the levers (there is a ball and socket with a sliding latch), slide the latch and remove the arm from the solenoid so you can manually open and close the ballast tank valves. MAKE SURE you close them after surfing. Otherwise, a leak in your ballast tank can sink your boat if left in the water overnight.

If the valves do not operate, contact your dealer and let them know. They can order the VRM (voltage regulator module) for replacement.

I'd bet on NSS actuators not working correctly.

The wake should be beautifully clean with zero ballast and no people.

Agreed. You need no ballast to form a clean wave.

Thanks for the replies. He took it to a CC mechanic and the guy reset the system and now it works properly. Apparently the plates weren’t moving as far as they were supposed to for whatever reason and the reset fixed the problem.
