I recently bought an '05 216 Sport with a 330 Excalibur (GM) (has a brand new battery) and have been having some intermittent issues with starting.
After entering the keypad password and holding the Start button, I get one of three results:
Does anyone know what is causing this? My research shows the starter relay solenoid may be bad, but this may be on older/different models (Ford blocks / GT-40). Maybe I need to change the starter? If you recommend a part a link would be great.
Thanks guys,
Mink
After entering the keypad password and holding the Start button, I get one of three results:
- The engine cranks once, 1-2 second delay, then turns over fine (happens 80% of the time)
- I get clicks as if the battery isn't sufficiently charged (will happen on cold start when I have the blower running). If I turn the blower off it typically results in the slow start like in (1) above.
- I get nothing. Blower/bilge/radio/etc. work fine but engine doesn't even try to crank. If I keep trying eventually it does usually turn over like in (1) above.
