    Ballast pumps

This has been great info. I have a 1999 Pro Air and I was wondering if the ballast system uses the same pump to fill and empty? I have discovered through this posting that my pump is bad. Thanks!!

    RE: Ballast pumps

I do not know for sure, but around that vintage, CC was using a system that had two pumps. The port on the bottom of your boat went to the in (center) of the fill pump, the out of the fill pump went to the out of the drain pump, (yes, they were hooked together) and the in port of the drain pump went to a tee fitting. The two ends of the tee went to the bottom of the ballast tanks. There was an air valve that was opened to allow air to enter or leave the ballast tanks, and that allowed the tanks to fill, or drain. Do you have two knobs by the rear of the drivers seat labeled port, and starboard?

The 99 should have 2 seperate pumps, one fill one empty. One should be not far after the water pickup or intake in the bilge area and the other should be under the removable floor section in the rear that has the round shaft access cover in it. Pumps should be available at your dealer or most marine suppliers. Be sure and check your fuse first, I think that should be under your removable dash pod.

      Good Luck!

I have a couple of pumps for sale, I paid $30 for both of them for a project I never finished. They have the connectors prewired and ready to go. I'll pass them to you for the same. PM me if interested.
