    Flip-up swim grid

Just entered the Nautique world with a 2000 216 Air. Threw a tape measure on the length and found it's just shy of 23' long and the slip it's parked at has a maximum of 22' (and there will probably be people checking and complaining)

The swim grid is in rough shape and needs to be taken apart, stained, then re-installed so I could certainly shorten it by 8" in the process but I think it would make getting in and out of the boat quite a bit more ackward. Removing and re-installing while it's in the water looks even more ackward. I'm wondering about making it hinged so I can flip it up at the dock but before I re-invent the wheel I wanted to see if anyone else has done something similar.

Super excited about the boat and happy to see such a great forum full of resources!!

Why not, I could see a limited need for that. Surprised no one has come up with it, maybe. If they can do similar concepts on a luxury yacht, should be doable.

Congrats on the Nautique, and welcome to the Planet!

If I were you I'd wait and see if they call you out. Your boat by the manufacturer is called a 216 because it is 21 1/2 feet long. And I'd show them that in the brochure- swim platforms are not typically listed in the length of a boat

I'm with gary s on this. Save the hassle unless some a-hole makes a stink. Is the length of an outboard counted in this length limit?
