Hi, looking to do some thruster work on my boat, ISA isn't an option as it's a 2017. Just wondering what the highlights are with ISA? Does it just come on under a certain speed when your wheel is turned to a certain angle? Is it proportional thrust with the wheel angle or does it come on full beans like hitting the rocker switch?

It is proportional to the amount of steering. You also have the ability to use the touch screen to control it, or use the rotary knob by pushing it to one side or the other. It is limited to under 4 MPH, I believe.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. Has anyone ever tried to build an ISA before? Might make a good winter project. Do you know if a 2017 Linc system uses CanBus? That would make it a little easier.
Thanks for your signature Jeff, I had no idea there was a Fish Nautique. I wonder if in Italy they make a Gondola Nautique.

To answer my question, yes the 2017 uses CANbus. The dealer tells me it's a different CANbus between the 17 and 18. What he means by that I'm assuming is that the 17 won't support the ISA controller. The 17 likely it doesn't have a rudder angle sensor broadcasting on the bus.
Next question is the exhaust diverter. Seems like it diverts it up and to the port side of the boat on another nozzle. Curious how necessary that is if they don't add it with the EZ Drive? The newer EZ drives are horizontal mount a little farther out but I can't see that making much of a difference for cavitation.Last edited by Vanlon; 12-08-2023, 12:11 AM.
