oh and good thought on the pin size, but it fits snug at first. and they are the stock from the dealer, so i assume they are correct. they look right.....

hi - does anyone know what happens if i unbolt the port and starboard mounts from the boat - these are the mounts that hold the platform on my 2010 SANTE 210. the middle one has nuts on the backside i can get to. but i cannot tell if the side platforms screw into the hull or if there are nuts inside that i have to be able to get to? anyone know?

I wish I could help ya with some pics but boat is tucked away in its safe space. The brackets on my 08 210 have finally gotten worn pretty bad. I have a lot of rattle back there. The pins have wore the original holes a bit and now allow the wigggle , and I only assume will keep getting worse over time , So I too am looking for a solution.

well i'll post if i find anything. at this point, just buying new parts and replacing them. just replaced one of the brackets on the platform on which ones of the openings for the pin ripped completely through. those are pretty easy tho takes 2 people to get the platform back on. if removing the posts on the boat was possible without getting down inside the boat then i'd take a shot at that. may call the company if no one on here knows. tho i'm not far away from just paying someone to weld them together. if you are only now having the problem on a 2008 that is pretty good. we're on third set since boat was new in 2010

I'm pretty sure all of those brackets have bolts and washers on the inside of the hull. It's the shifting of the platform that causes the wear. If you don't need to take the platform off often, I would look for the thickest place on the bracket attached to platform where you can drill a hole and tap it. Then put a stainless steel cap screw into the threaded hole so the screw clamps down on the pin on the back of the boat. That will stop the movement and prevent the wear. You need to do it to all three brackets and you may even need to do 2 screws per bracket to get it completely locked down. Check the tightness of the screws every so often and tighten as needed.

that is an interesting idea i had not considered. i'll do some thinking about it. but the wave force is substantial. might just rip the screws clean out, given how soft the metal is that the have made these out of..... . to give you an idea, one of the problems i had this weekend replacing a bracket was that the pins were bent and hard to get out. stainless pins. pretty impressive. but this is a good thought, short of welding them. i like it! thanks!
