2006 Nautique 226 LE Prop Shaft Seal Life

I plan to purchase a one-owner 2006 Nautique 226 LE that has been maintained by a top Nautique dealer since new. Unfortunately the dealer keeps paper maintenance records for only two years and has no digital record.

Nearly everything that I can think of (fresh water impeller, fuel lines, belts, fuel pump, fuel filter) were replaced in 2022, along with maintenance on the inboard coupler, shaft and rudder. Transmission and V-Drive fluid was changed as well, and a new steering cable was installed.

The dealer could not confirm that the prop shaft packing log had been replaced, given only the two year look-back.

Is it fair to think that the prop shaft water seal has been replaced at some point, given a competent dealer?

Are there other things that I need to consider regarding potential maintenance items before I pull the trigger on this purchase?

The motor is the standard PCM 350 CI / 330 HP with 540 hours.

Thanks for any guidance and/or insight.

Two things that can shorten the life is misalignment or running in water with a lot of silt. If there is no play up and down or side to side with the shaft, I wouldn't worry. My 01 Air still has the original, and my 66 Mustang has been changed once.

Thanks! I am confident that alignment has been managed well by the dealer. I can't find a reason not to bring this boat home.
