How far are the NSS plate are from the edges - Retrofit -

Hi,

I am testing the plates I received and for some reason I found that they are sticking quite recessed from the side of the boat and I was wondering if that is acceptable. The bottom is about 1 in from the boat hull side and the top is about 2 in.
