Does anyone have a way to get these mold stains off the seats last year the interior looked almost new. Just pulled the boat out of storage and I have these spots all over

Spray Nine

Some guys have had success with the spray nine. I’ve used totally awesome cleaner with exceptional results for years on several different boats. Either way make sure your give it good wet wipe down and add some protectant when you’re done

Has anyone tried a steamer yet? I've been watching a bunch of detailer videos lately and they seem to use a steamer to kill off the mold quite a bit.

On chemicals, I've heard of and seen the before/after pictures of Spray 9 which looked quite good. Never tried it myself.

So that's mildew, not mold. The plan to attack this is pretty straightforward: Start with the mild cleaners and only go up if you have to. There's already a suggestion for Spray 9 Marine and that's exactly where I would start. Spray it on and let it soak. Brush it with a soft brush. You may need to do this a couple of times but that should get the vast majority of it off. If that doesn't get it, you may need to research the steamer. Seen that done on cloth seats, but I'm not sure it applies to vinyl.

As a VERY LAST RESORT, you can use a magic eraser but keep in mind, you will be taking some of the vinyl with it. These are very abrasive.

Umm, just my 2 cents, you may want to dilute that Spray Nine on the 1st run, in a not so obvious place. It's good stuff, but my experience when using on the interior, it can be a little harsh un-diluted. What a bummer to unveil to in the Spring, sorry.

Pretty much the only cleaner I live by is awesome.

Simple green didn't work
Awesome didn't work
Chem guys interior didn't work

Wifes home made rubbing alcohol and while vinegar 1:1 ratio took it off almost over night. Imma keep on it and I'll update you guys with final results.

Just a microfiber towel. Yellow ones from Costco to be exact.

That would be part of the issue. That towel won’t get deep enough for the spores. Grab a magic eraser and keep it wet with Totally Awesome or Spray Nine , do small areas at a time. It should wipe those right off.


people will argue they are abrasive, but used sparingly and properly for big jobs, followed up with protectant they’re a great tool.

Rubbing alcohol & vinegar, hmm, I like it. Each good for many uses on their own, but combined together, sounds like a good duo.
swatguy is on the right track with the brush or eraser. That mildew got you good this winter.
I've been to Orting in the winter (bought our boat there), you guys get some super humid cold fog banks there.

Spray Nine + a brush... I would not let it sit overnight and I am not sure I would use a magic eraser but that is just me. I had the same issue (looked the same but a bit worse) a few years ago, just takes scrubbing with a soft brush. I also would not let it dry on the vinyl.

Seems like you are making progress, just sharing what I know worked for me.

Did that took it out last Sunday. Unfortunately I live in Washington so it's raining and the cover is back on it.
