I am acquiring a 2006 Nautique 226 LE with the 330 HP engine. The boat has been exceedingly well-maintained, and I intend to keep it that way.
I noticed the following in the sticky topic regarding failing gauges:
"Faria, for some reason, thought it would be a good idea to have the pitot tube hoses connect directly to the circuit board that is inside the gateway box. This box controls all of the gauges on the dash! What happens is that the seals on the ends of these hoses fail, and when they do, water fills the Faria gateway box!"
I want to be proactive and avoid this problem by checking the pitot tube seals and repairing if necessary. Where is the Faria gateway box located?
Thanks in advance for any guidance. This is my first Nautique, and I will likely be asking rudimentary questions for a while.
