    2021 GS 24 with ZR4

I just purchased a 2021 GS24 with a partial closed cooling system. I have owned my 2007 Malibu VLX for 12 years and I am only used to the freshwater cooling.

What is the general opinion regarding the partial closed system? I see that the newer models are freshwater only, are there disadvantages to the partial closed system or concerns that I should watch out for? I was surprised to see that it had the partial closed system.

It looks like at least one very positive thing is that it will be much easier to get ready for summer. I was going to take it to the dealer to summerize but it looks to be quite easy.

    Thanks in advance.

Where do you see that new models are freshwater only? My 21 ZR4 was partial closed as is my 22 ZZ6. And the manual images still show coolant reservoirs. Partial cooling is fine. It makes winterization a lot easier. I would not want to go back to the old method of hunting down plugs. The only issue I’m aware of is that the factory didn’t do an awesome job of tightening the hose clamps for a while. That should’ve worked itself out in 3 years though.

      Hal,

Thank you for that. I was looking at the advertisement for the 2024 GS 24 and it looks like there are freshwater only ( I could be wrong).

Just to confirm, is winterization (as far as engine goes) just unplugging the 3 quick disconnect hoses and the freshwater screen? I was just quoted $500 to summarize and it seems silly if that is all that is involved. I have no problems doing things myself but the owners manual is no service manual.

      Thanks again
