bturner like you, I have an ***-pot load of nearly new impellers from changing them annually . I have made the executive decision to change them once every three years. Crazy how often we changed these ****-things

Well said bturner, and thank you!
I like the "what's in your kit" thread idea. Your idea, your thread.
My picture would be pretty small. I do have a spare prop now, and puller (and cotter pin, lol). Also have an impeller, but the multi-screw driver and few allen wrenches aren't going to help my cause there. I guess I do have a pretty decent plethora of tools in the truck push come to shove.
GMLIII, I guess maybe that comes to hours per season, but agreed, sometimes we go for overkill. At the end of the day, and doing it yourself, you're not out to big of a fistful of dollars for a little preventative. My last boat didn't have a strainer, which tended to be a little rougher on impellers. My recent change at 2 years, I will say the impeller looked like it had a lot of life left in it.Last edited by Scooter G; 05-17-2024, 09:21 AM.
