    Thermostat for 96 GT-40 5.8

    Hello, I'm in the midst of replacing my water temperature sending unit and want to go ahead and replace the thermostat also. My boat is a 96 Sport Nautique w/ GT-40 EFI 5.8. What temperature stat does my engine take and can I pick one up at the auto parts store. If so what brand & part number should I look for?

      heater 180

      off the top of my head, better to check though. Should be in the manual in the downloads section of this site

        will a 180 deg stat for a ford f150 or van w/ 351 work? I was hoping I could pick one up locally from a auto parts store.

          Dont use an automotive T-stat. Different materials used, the automotive one will corrode quickly and not work. Call Skidim.
