Impeller Access on 5.0 Pro Sport (2003 SN)

I've changed impellers on several different SNs, but this one is new to me. The raw water pump housing is actually at or below the floor. See the below photos.

How do I access to change the impeller? I believe I loosen the belt tensioner and then remove the one hinge bolt (on which the tensioner rotates). At that point the whole assembly comes loose and I can then access the four bolts on the back? Please confirm. Once I have this done, I will take photos of the whole process and put on here.

Jeff, this is the SN you sold me; so, it is highly likely you already did this and know.

I would remove the hinge bolt AND the other bolt there, take the whole pump out to do the job on a workbench outside of the boat. On my v-drive 2003, there's plenty of room around the pump BUT it's down low and hard to reach, and I'm squatting in one of the storage spaces next to the engine.

Once it's out of the boat, it's gotta be the same as any 2003 with an Excalibur engine - I'm sure that's well documented. It sure looks like the same pump.

I see 5 bolts that have been all removed a time or 10. 2 bracket, and 3 pulley bolts.Not familiar with your circa, you are not getting much feedback here (everyone is getting their boats in the water), but I'm pretty sure functionoverfashion nailed it, judging from the obvious clues present.

I don't remember what I did on that one originally, but I agree that the whole pump would have had to have come out. I'd pull the whole thing and see how that goes.

Remove the 2 adjustment bolts lay the impeller and pulley in the bilge then remove the bracket that holds the impeller unit, 2 bolts,. With the bracket out of the way you can easily remove the pump and do your impeller change on a bench.
